How early do I need to leave?
Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, guests are requested to complete Online Check-In no later than three days prior to their cruise. If you do not complete Online Check-In three days prior, you will be required to complete this process at the pier at least two hours prior to the published sailing time. Please note: All guests must be checked-in and on board the ship no later than 90 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you will not be permitted to sail.

Is there parking available at the pier, and is there a charge?
Yes, we do have parking at most piers for a minimal fee. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of spaces available will vary by pier.

What if my flight is delayed?
If you miss the departure of your trip due to carrier-caused delays or other covered reasons, the Royal Caribbean Travel Protection Program package of benefits reimburses you for additional accommodation, meals and 'catch-up' transport expenses. Otherwise, you are responsible for any expense incurred to meet the ship at its next port of call. For this reason, many guests find it is easiest to arrive a day prior to sailing and stay in a hotel the night before to avoid any possible delays. We offer pre-cruise packages at resort hotels near the port where you board. You can also extend your holiday by booking a post-cruise hotel package.

What is an Onboard Expense Account? How do I pay for purchases onboard?
An Onboard Expense Account is the cashless system used for all on board purchases and services. Your SeaPass card acts as your onboard ID, stateroom/suite door key and your card to charge onboard purchases to.

The account may be set-up in advance through the online check-in process or at the pier when you check in. You can register either a credit card or set up a cash account.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Optima, Discover and Diner's Card.

You may establish a master account and add guests from your stateroom or even another stateroom, to be authorised purchasers on your account. Alternatively, guests in the same stateroom may each register their own credit card to their account.

For each purchase made on board the ship you will receive a receipt at the point of sale.  A final statement will be delivered to your stateroom on the last night of your cruise holiday for your review. You can check your account through your interactive stateroom TV during your cruise. If you are travelling on consecutive cruises, your account will be settled at the end of each cruise.

Guests that set up an account with a credit card should verify the statement.  If all purchases are correct, they will automatically be charged to the credit card registered.

Guests with a cash account will need to settle their statement onboard before disembarking.  The ship will provide you with specific details when you set up the cash account. Guests are required to place a cash deposit when setting up their account onboard. You can also use Traveller's Cheques to set up a cash account.
There is a daily spending limit set on cash accounts, dependant on cruise duration.

Holding Charges

Whilst you are onboard, your daily spend will be authorised at the close of business each day. Your card provider, as part of their standard procedures, may retain these authorisations for up to 28 days and this is outside of the control of RCL Cruises Ltd.
For this reason, you may wish to set up a cash only account or register a credit card rather than a debit card at the start of your sailing. You may also wish to contact your bank at the end of your cruise to assist with any outstanding authorisations.

How do I get to the ship?
For guests who have made their air arrangements through Royal Caribbean (and are arriving on the day of boarding), our airport Meet and Greet staff will meet you in the Baggage Claim Area or outside Customs (for international flights) to direct you to your transport between the airport and ship. Please refer to your Transfer Voucher for more specific details of transport, meeting locations, start times and frequency of transfers.

Guests that are cruise-only (i.e. have not made air arrangements through us) may also purchase this transfer service (called Royal Connections) separately. Please contact your travel agent or contact us for details.

If you drive to the departure port, parking is typically available on a first-come, first-served basis at most piers for a minimal fee. However every pier does vary.

Can I check in for my cruise holiday in advance?
Of course! No matter how you reserve your cruise holiday – with a travel agent, over the phone, or online – you can use our Online Check-In process to speed up your boarding and avoid filling in forms at the pier.

Royal Caribbean International requires guests to be checked in no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time*. Guests arriving late will not be permitted to sail. This supports government regulations in some ports that require cruise lines to submit a departure manifest 60 minutes prior to sailing. Guests are requested to complete Online Check-In no later than three days prior to the cruise in order to expedite the pier check-in process.

*Some sailings may require an earlier check-in time. Please refer to your Guest Ticket Booklets for specific information.

When can I board the ship?
The boarding time for your ship and sailing date is specified in your Guest Ticket Booklet.  Please do not plan on arriving at the pier before the specified time as the ship will not be ready to board guests.

Please note: All guests must be checked-in and onboard the ship no later than 90 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you will not be permitted to sail.

What documents will I need to present at the pier if I have completed the Online Check-In process?
You will need to present:
SetSail Pass
Identification Documents (proof of citizenship) for each guest
Credit Card used for your Onboard Expense Account

How can I find out if anything (such as inclement weather) has affected my itinerary?
A link to our Sailing Updates Notification form will appear here when any of our sailings are subject to adjustments due to inclement weather. When that link appears, you can fill out the simple form to let us know how you would prefer to be contacted with any updates to your cruise holiday.

How much luggage may I bring on board?
Each guest is permitted to carry a reasonable amount of personal property (including luggage) aboard the vessel; however, for your comfort and convenience, it is recommended that you limit the number of pieces you take. Bear in mind that airlines may charge for excess or oversized luggage. Charges incurred for excess or oversized baggage are the sole responsibility of the passenger. Each airline has a different limit on the amount of luggage they allow. Check with your airline for specific restrictions, such as baggage allowance and any additional charges.
